Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study
The City of Ottawa has initiated an Environmental Assessment Study for a new multi-use pathway connection between Coventry Road and the Train Transitway Station. The intent of this undertaking is to develop a plan to better connect area residents and businesses with rapid transit and neighbouring communities.
Notice of Completion
The City of Ottawa has completed an Environmental Assessment Study for a new multi-use pathway connection between Coventry Road, near the Ottawa Stadium, and the Train Transitway Station.
The intent of this future multi-use pathway connection is to better connect area residents and businesses with rapid transit and neighbouring communities. This project is supported by policies in the City’s Official Plan and Transportation Master Plan (TMP). The TMP also identifies a new multi-use crossing of the Queensway in this vicinity as a required project to be implemented before 2015.
The project followed the process for a ‘Schedule C’ project in accordance with the Municipal Engineers Association "Municipal Class Environmental Assessment" (October 2000, amended 2007), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment (EA) Act. An Environmental Study Report (ESR) documenting the purpose, rationale, recommended plan, mitigation measures, and estimated costs has been prepared and will be placed on record April 8, 2011 for public and agency review for a 30-day period.
Copies of the ESR are available for review at the following locations:
