Discover the rich history of our railways – from the first trains and streetcars up to the present day O-train.

Learn about the major milestones of the last 150 years including the arrival of the first passenger train in 1854, the development and decline of streetcars, and the creation of the O-train. Come and enjoy the artifacts and photographs displayed by the City of Ottawa Archives.
